Research & Policy Guidance / Implementing Changes

Green Infrastructure Implementation Neulerchenfelderstrasse, Vienna, Austria, 2015 - 2019.

 - Creating practical solutions to climate change mitigation and adaptation planning that urban governance faces. Uncovering relations between influence, knowledge, and centralities in the relevant environmental governance network, bringing out instruments to utilize influential actors for better project outcomes.

Research & Policy Guidance / Implementing Changes

Green Infrastructure Implementation El Rio project, Tuscon, Arizona, 2015 - 2019.

 - This project researches the nature of the dispersal of knowledge and influence in Tuscon governance networks, in order to quantify it within the network terms, and therefore make possible discrepancies visible and repairable with the proposed policies.

Effective diagnosis of implementation problems / Recommending Actions

Strategic network interventions for advancing Nature-Based Solutions planning and implementation, City of Vienna, 2015 - 2019.

 - The project deals with the mobilizing stakeholders for more effective and efficient NBS implementation in urban areas, by using governance networks analysis. It creates policy, tools and instruments that target influential actors and enable them to engage the networks for the wished actions.

Effective diagnosis of implementation problems / Recommending Actions

Managing environmental knowledge in urban green infrastructure implementation processes, TU Vienna, 2018. - 2019.

 - This project uses Key Player metrics to evaluate the spread of the environmental knowledge in governance networks and proposes the actions for strategic network interventions.

Research & Policy Guidance

X - UGI: Predictive modeling in the development of available space for green infrastructure due to autonomous mobility systems, TU Vienna & AIT Vienna, 2017.

 - Development of a quantitative and spatially explicit integrated model for mapping the current urban fabric that conducts alternative land-use scenarios for the next decades, by modeling change of built-up land to open green space and evaluating resulting effects. The model considers the distribution, size, and connectivity of UGI elements, as a green network linking the urban with the peri-urban. The project evaluates conversion alternatives and identifies UGI priority areas.

Research & Project Implementation

Public Service Mobility Points, PubsMOP & TU Vienna, 2017.

 - The project develops and tests special mobility point services as demands and needs a responsive mobility system, connected to traditional public transportation systems in versatile forms. It improves accessibility and socially inclusive mobility for disadvantaged social groups and prioritized areas.

Research & Policy Guidance / Recommending Actions

Prospects for ecosystem services provision in fragile strategic urban areas, Mira International Development Agency, 2018.

Urban Renewal Strategy & Project Implementation

Urban revival guidelines for the abandoned military quarters “Ivan Draskovic”, 2016.

 - The project comprises the extensive redevelopment of a former military quarter into flats, offices, retail, public services, parks, and gardens. The strategy proposes a range of ways in which current development can enable the transition to a more sustainable future, e.g., material, energy and water management, traffic design, and methods for increasing social- and biodiversity. A number of challenges, including technological and financial barriers, in the way to adopting mentioned principles are identified.

Urban Renewal Strategy & Project Implementation
